A bathroom remodel in days past was actually a simple affair -- simply replace worn out tiles with new ones, exchange your cracked sink for one in the same color and if you were feeling particularly extravagant, install a bath tub in basic white or cream. These days, it's very possible that you will exceed your bath remodel budget with the staggering range in bathroom fittings and accessories. Remember that the bathroom is first and foremost a functional room. If it fails to offer continuity and convenience, then you will soon find that your expensive fittings get in the way, rather than make life convenient.

If you are restricted by the size of your bathroom, you may find that a detachable shower or a tub-shower combo if you have the space for a tub, is the right choice for you. Newer dual shower head systems allow you to direct your shower at any part of the body through the presence of two separate shower heads that are connected to a single water line. So, if your back is killing you after a long day at work, angle the shower head directly to your back, and relax!

Although the basic 3-wall alcove tub is still the most popular and affordable choice, there are dozens of other different styles to choose from. A triangular tub that is installed in a corner with just one finished size visible is ideal for a smaller bathroom. Claw footed tubs or free standing tubs that are plunked in the middle of a bath, or anywhere else you desire. These tubs are made of light weight materials, but are finished to look like an antique tub. A whirlpool is installed as a drop in model, mounted in the platform. It can also be sunk to below flow level. The soothing hydro massage that a whirlpool tub offers elevates it from a mere tub to a spa facility.

I am selling my house. I need to replace my whirlpool tub in my master bath. It is a corner whirlpool tub that is 60 inches by 60 inches. It is 18.5 inches tall. I have seen a nearly identical tub at Lowes (but it is 22 inches tall). Please provide an estimate for replacing my tub or installing the tub from Lowes.
